Plot:
A lower-middle class family in Bangladesh's capital city of Dhaka is going through hard times. Their father has gone blind and can no longer work, and most of the family's money has been wasted on their unemployed son Hiru, who refuses to work. All the family's problems fall on the shoulder of their beautiful daughter Tithi, who works as a prostitute to help the family. The film is a fairly non-judgmental look at the lives of Tithi, her family and the people she comes in contact with through her job.

A viewer's review:
When i first saw the preview of this movie i wasn't quiet sure what to expect. To be honest i thought it would be a sad attempt at a hard hitting movie. What i saw was completely different, subtlety was the name of the game here. Even without unnecessary boldness the movie faired out well, and conveyed the message through the eyes of the main character played by Shabnoor, who must've dished out the best performance in her career. The award from India sure did give the movie the respect it deserved. The beauty of it is, that everyone can judge the movie on their own thoughts and nothing is fed to them by the director.
